Based on a series of photographs of political prisoners, Susana Sousa Dias ("Natureza Morta") once again focuses on the Estado Novo period and makes a documentary about the 48 years of dictatorship in Portugal (1926-1974). Showing the faces of PIDE victims, the aim is for the viewer to watch each image while listening, in voice-over, to the live testimony of the person in question, using pauses and silences as a means of reflection. For Sousa Dias, the film "seeks to operate in the zone between what photography shows and what it doesn't reveal; but also between analogy and strangeness, the enunciated and the lived, image and memory." GRAND PRIX 2010 at the Cinéma du Réel, France.
